Supporting safety critical skills in the audiovisual industries
The purpose of the Joint Industry Grading Scheme (JIGS) is to develop, maintain and administer a grading scheme for people working, or intending to work, in the fields of Special Effects and Rigging within the film, broadcasting, television, video and associated industries.
The grading scheme is intended to ensure that safety competence is proportionate to the work that the individual undertakes.
As part of its role JIGS promotes, develops and provides training to individuals and seeks access to funding to support this.
